Racial Equality Scheme

An action plan to eliminate unlawful racial discrimination, promote equality of opportunity and promote good relations between persons of different racial groups.

The Race Relations (amendment) Act 2000 imposes a duty on public bodies to

  • Eliminate unlawful racial discrimination;
  • Promote equality of opportunity; and
  • Promote good relations between persons of different racial groups.

The Independent Living Funds (ILF) are committed to achieving these aims.

This document details the ways in which the ILF intends to take positive action that will make the promotion of racial equality central to its work by taking account of racial equality in the day to day work of policy-making, service delivery, employment practice and other work.
