Review Update - Change to Deadline for Submissions

Part of the ILF Review involves a "Call for Evidence".  The consultants responsible for the Review are asking 4 key questions, namely:

1. What do you believe to be the strengths and weaknesses of the ILFs?
2. How do you see the ILFs relating to other "cash for care" models (notably, Direct Payments and Individual Budgets)?
3. Are current arrangements for delivering the ILFs best suited to its purpose within a changing policy context?
4. What changes, if any, do you believe are required in the way in which the ILFs operate?

These questions are being sent to disability organisations, Local Authorities and other government organisations and their responses will be used in part to help the consultants make their recommendations.  The ILF will also be providing a response to the 4 questions.

Written submissions in response to the Call for Evidence should be sent in electronic form by 30 September 2006 to: ILF-Review@dwp.gsi.gov.uk

(NB This is a change to the previously advised deadline of 31 August.)
