Office For Disability Issues Consultation: Equality For Disabled People: How will we know we are making progress?

The Government Office for Disability Issues (ODI) began a consultation on 14 February 2007, seeking the views of disabled people on the following topics:

• The Government is committed to achieving equality for disabled people in the UK by 2025.  What should equality look like?
• What areas of disabled people's lives will show that progress in achieving equality has been made?

Changes in a range of government policies and services will be needed to deliver equality for disabled people.  This consultation will help ensure the Government's strategy remains focused on the important issues.

As part of the consultation process, the ODI is organising a series of consultation events on:

• 19 March 2007 in Cardiff
• 27 March 2007 in Edinburgh
• 30 March 2007 in London
• 4 April 2007 in Manchester
