New Trust Deed

The ILF is pleased to announce that a new Trust Deed has been signed by the Trustees.  The new Deed merges the two current Trusts of the Extension Fund and the 1993 Fund into one Trust to be known as the Independent Living Fund (2006).  The new Trust will improve administration and bring some legal provisions up to date.

Legislation needs to be passed for the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions to be granted power to pay monies to the new Trust.  The funding arrangements needed for the new Deed are scheduled to come into effect in 2007 subject to the Welfare Reform Bill receiving Royal Assent.
